Dixon told Childs the girl was dead, police said.<br /><br />She had been raped, strangled, her body had been set on fire, as had her bed, dresser and a basement utility room, police said. They said a check of her phone showed calls between her phone and a phone belonging to Dixon hours before she was killed.<br /><br />Police said Childs confessed to the killing and burglary and implicated Dixon. Police arrested Dixon hours later.<br /><br />“Killers,” Batts said. “Sixteen-year-old, innocent teenager. … Nothing is more important than tracking down and jailing cowards who take the life of an innocent child. Nothing.”<br /><br />Court records show Childs was released from a Baltimore County jail on a burglary charge five days before Bowers was killed. Senator Kashamu had on February 6th 2014 dragged the former President before an Abuja High Court for 'maliciously and recklessly' publishing a letter titled, ‘Before it is too late,’ addressed to former President Jonathan in December 2013, where Obasanjo described him as a fugitive wanted in America for drug related offences.<br /><br /><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />He asked the court to restrain President Obasanjo from using the letter or any part of it in his book, My Watch. The former President however went ahead with publishing his book with the controversial letter as a content in the book. Senator Kashamu then approached the court to ban Obasanjo's book which was granted by the court.<br /><br />The court however lifted the ban on the book in April after lawyers to the former President argued against the ban. The court was to resume hearing on the suit when Senator Kashamu filed for withdrawal, citing ongoing talks between him and the former President. Lawyers to the former President however denied knowledge of any talks of settlement between him and their client, Obasanjo.</div>
